**Tropical Storm Nadine and Hurricane Oscar Impact Central America and Caribbean**

Overnight, Tropical Storm Nadine formed east of Belize, bringing significant rain to the region extending from Honduras to Mexico. Meanwhile, Hurricane Oscar continues to intensify near the Greater Antilles after a quiet spell in tropical activity.

Both storms emerged since early Saturday, with neither posing a direct threat to the United States. However, Nadine is expected to unleash heavy rainfall across Central America, potentially leading to flooding, while Oscar is forecasted to bring rain and strong winds to the Bahamas and Cuba.

Hurricane Oscar, now the 10th hurricane of the season, saw its intensity upgraded by the Hurricane Hunters who investigated the storm Saturday afternoon. Hurricane warnings have been issued for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas. Meanwhile, a hurricane watch is in place for eastern Cuba, where tropical storm conditions are anticipated later this weekend.

Oscar is predicted to move westward towards the eastern tip of Cuba and the central Bahamas over the weekend before turning northeast across the Bahamas. Although no significant impact is expected in Florida, Oscar's small size means it is prone to rapid intensity changes. Damaging winds and substantial rainfall are the primary threats to parts of the Bahamas and eastern Cuba from Monday through Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Nadine made landfall near Belize City on Saturday afternoon, bringing 60 mph winds and extensive rainfall to the western Caribbean. Tropical storm warnings are in effect from Belize City to Cancun in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, indicating expected tropical storm conditions throughout the weekend.

Nadine will advance westward into Guatemala and eastern Mexico, with no threat to the United States. The primary concern with Nadine is the heavy rain forecasted for Belize, Guatemala, and southern and eastern Mexico. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from 3-8 inches, with some areas potentially experiencing up to 15 inches, leading to a risk of flooding.
