More than 50 million Americans are currently bracing themselves for the threat of severe storms on Easter Monday, as the National Weather Service warns of possible tornadoes, flooding, and snowstorms sweeping through central and eastern parts of the country.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Fort Worth area of Texas on Monday afternoon through Monday night, with some potentially becoming severe. The initial storms in western North Texas could bring very large hail and have a slightly increased potential for tornadoes. The agency highlights that large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats in these areas.

Residents in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and St Louis are also at risk of experiencing severe storms. In addition, Indiana and Maryland are bracing for possible flooding, with the NWS in Indianapolis predicting multiple rounds of severe storms and heavy rain through Monday night. The forecast includes the possibility of large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes, and localized flooding.

The National Weather Service is urging residents in affected areas to stay "weather aware and ready to take action" over the next 48 hours. It is crucial for residents to stay updated on the latest weather conditions and follow any necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

The severe storms are expected to shift eastward on Tuesday, heading towards cities such as Memphis, Tennessee, Washington DC, and Baltimore. Residents in these areas are advised to stay vigilant and prepare for potential severe weather conditions.

As the threat of severe storms looms over a vast portion of the country, it is imperative for individuals to stay informed, heed any warnings or advisories issued by local authorities, and have emergency plans in place. By prioritizing safety and preparedness, communities can better withstand the impact of these potentially dangerous weather events.
