Seven New Church Leaders Called to Serve in the Seventy

In a recent announcement from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, seven individuals have been called to serve as leaders in the Seventy. These new leaders, chosen from various backgrounds and regions around the world, will play key roles in furthering the Church's mission and serving its members.
Elder David L. Buckner, a resident of New York, New York, and a professor at Columbia University, has been selected to serve as a leader in the Seventy. Joining him is Elder Gregorio E. Casillas, hailing from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, with experience as an Area Temples Facilities manager. Both elders bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their positions.
Also called to serve is Elder Aroldo B. Cavalcante, residing in Recife, Brazil, and who has previously served as an attorney and managing partner. Elder I. Raymond Egbo, based in Abuja, Nigeria, and having worked extensively in Seminaries and Institutes of Religion, is another valuable addition to the Seventy leadership.
Elder D. Martin Goury, originally from Côte d'Ivoire and previously employed as a country operations manager, along with Elder Karl D. Hirst, a barrister from Bolsover, England, will also be serving in the Seventy. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences will lend well to their new responsibilities.
Rounding out the new leaders are Elder Christopher H. Kim, from Seoul, Korea, who has held positions in Unicity International Inc., and Elder Roman, from Toluca, Mexico, who has worked as a marketing manager. These two elders bring a unique global perspective to their roles.
The Church is also pleased to announce that Elder Steven D. Shumway, a Pinetop, Arizona resident, and Elder Michael B. Strong, from Centerville, Utah, have been selected to serve in the Seventy. Both elders have impressive professional backgrounds, with Elder Shumway serving as a CEO and Elder Strong working as a physician and chief medical information officer.
This new wave of leadership comes as the Church continues to expand its reach and strengthen its global presence. Each of these new Seventy leaders has shown dedication to their communities and a deep commitment to their faith.
