**Cowboys Seek Perfection After Narrow Win Against Giants**
In a much-needed victory, the Dallas Cowboys edged out the New York Giants 20-15 on Thursday night, halting a troubling two-game losing streak. This victory, however, did little to quell the hunger for improvement within the team.
Quarterback Dak Prescott shined, completing 21 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, earning a stellar 125.5 quarterback rating. His connection with receiver CeeDee Lamb was particularly effective, with Lamb catching seven of eight targets for 98 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown.
Despite efforts to reignite their running game, the Cowboys managed only 80 yards on 23 attempts, averaging 3.5 yards per carry. However, key runs during a decisive 10-play drive, capped by a Brandon Aubrey 40-yard field goal, showcased some promise.
Defensively, the Cowboys excelled against the Giants' run game, limiting them to a mere 26 rushing yards, an impressive 1.08 yards per carry. "We cleaned some things up on film," said linebacker Eric Kendricks, emphasizing the importance of physical play and consistent effort throughout the season.
However, not all comments were positive. Linebacker Micah Parsons expressed dissatisfaction with the narrow victory: "I'm done scraping by. I don't want to scrape by no more. I want legit wins and win consistently."
With injuries to key players like DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and Parsons himself (ankle), and persistent issues with penalties, there are still hurdles to overcome. Coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged, “We got a lot of work to do,” after the team was penalized 11 times for 89 yards.
Special teams also had a hiccup, as Aubrey missed a 51-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter, which would have widened the Cowboys' lead and pressured the Giants further.
As the Cowboys prepare for their next game in 10 days against Pittsburgh, they are determined to maintain accountability and address the flaws that led to their previous losses. Defensive end Lawrence summed it up: "You just can't come in and be accountable one week, you got to come in each and every day." The Cowboys know the road ahead demands consistent effort and improvement.
