The search for 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers, a Tennessee teenager with autism who has been missing for over a month, has been halted due to increasing security concerns and threats received by the volunteer group assisting in the search. United Cajun Navy, a non-profit search and rescue organization, announced on Friday that they would be scaling back their efforts to find Rogers following the intimidating incidents targeting their members.

The group took to Facebook to share their decision, stating that the search for Sebastian Rogers had been called off for the day. The organization emphasized that the decision was made with the safety of all volunteers in mind and expressed gratitude towards those who had planned to participate in the search. Although details regarding the threats were not provided in the Facebook post, Brian Trascher, vice-president of United Cajun Navy, informed Fox News Digital about two separate instances of intimidation towards their members.

According to Trascher, a male volunteer was confronted and intimidated by an individual in a hotel parking lot. Additionally, a female volunteer received a threatening phone call from another man, which was recorded and shared with Fox News Digital. In the recording, the man accuses the volunteers of trespassing on his property and expresses his intention to inform the community about their activities. The female volunteer explained that they were not trespassing but merely attempting to turn around, and that she had even attempted to contact the man for guidance before the incident occurred.

These incidents have raised significant safety concerns for the United Cajun Navy search team, resulting in the suspension of public search efforts. They will continue searching for Sebastian Rogers privately, but the specific search locations will not be disclosed due to safety considerations. Fox News Digital reached out to the Sumner County Sheriff's Office for comment but did not receive a response.

Sebastian Rogers went missing from his Hendersonville home, reportedly leaving his bedroom barefoot and carrying a flashlight. The Sumner County Sheriff's Office issued an Amber Alert for him last month, as he was last seen in the area of Stafford Court. Sebastian's mother, Katie Proudfoot, expressed the family's desperation for answers, stating that they have no substantial evidence to locate him and are pleading for assistance.

Adding to the complexity of the case, Katie Proudfoot addressed questions regarding her decision to travel away from the area where Sebastian was last seen. She explained that the family had been receiving threatening and hateful messages, with individuals even following and disturbing their neighborhood at all hours. To ensure their safety, Katie felt it was necessary to leave the neighborhood temporarily.

In the meantime, Sebastian's father, Seth Rogers, has been searching the Natchez Trace State Park in West Tennessee, suspecting that his son may have been left there. However, the specific reason behind this belief has not been revealed.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) urged Hendersonville locals to thoroughly search their properties and surroundings for any sign of Sebastian, emphasizing the need to check areas where a teenager could potentially hide. First responders covered approximately 2,000 miles within the initial days of the search, but few clues have been found regarding Sebastian's whereabouts.

Sebastian Rogers is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and glasses. Anyone with information regarding Sebastian's disappearance is urged to contact the Sumner County Emergency Communications Center or the TBI.

As the search for Sebastian Rogers remains suspended due to safety concerns, the community continues to rally together in the hopes of finding the missing teenager and bringing him back home safely.
