Search and Recovery Efforts Underway at Rampart Reservoir

Recovery operations were conducted overnight on Saturday for an individual who failed to resurface after entering the water at Rampart Reservoir. The Colorado Springs Fire Department swiftly responded to the incident, providing assistance to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department deployed a drone, along with dive and heavy rescue personnel, to aid in the search and rescue operation. However, shortly after, a social media post from the fire department indicated that the operation had transitioned into a recovery effort.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife joined forces with the fire department, offering specialized equipment to aid in the search of the water. As the night progressed, the firefighters cleared the reservoir and returned to their base in Colorado Springs, while Colorado Parks and Wildlife assumed command of the ongoing search efforts.

Throughout the night, experienced teams from Colorado Parks and Wildlife tirelessly combed the reservoir for any sign of the missing individual. The extent of their search efforts remained uncertain at the time of writing.
