In an updated weather radar image taken at 3:11 PM, scattered storms were observed moving east/southeast across South-Central Texas, the Coastal Bend, and Southeast Texas, posing a risk of severe weather. According to meteorologists, these storms are expected to persist into the evening hours, with a possibility of strong winds, large hail, and even a chance of a spinup tornado.

The southern Edwards Plateau, South-Central Texas, the Coastal Plains, and Southeast Texas are likely to experience scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. These storms will continue their east/southeast movement, accompanied by constant cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rainfall. The High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) weather model predicts the simulated weather patterns from this afternoon through Monday morning.

As the night progresses, the intensity of the thunderstorms will likely weaken across the southern regions of the state. By Monday morning, a tropical-like environment with southerly winds will advance northward, covering about three-quarters of Texas. This weather pattern is expected to extend into Oklahoma and Kansas.

Monday night will bring a severe weather outbreak to Oklahoma and Kansas, with the possibility of destructive hail and localized damaging winds. While there is a slight risk for storms to develop in the northern portions of Texas during Monday evening, it is more likely that these severe storms will remain north of the Red River. Therefore, most of Texas is expected to remain relatively thunderstorm-free on Monday.

Nevertheless, spotty showers, drizzle, and low clouds will be widespread throughout tonight. The threat of severe weather in Oklahoma and Kansas highlights the need for residents in those regions to stay alert and monitor weather updates.

With the potential for erratic weather conditions, it is advised for those in the affected areas to stay informed about any changes in the forecast and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Stay tuned for further weather updates as meteorologists closely monitor the progression of these scattered storms and their potential impact across the region.
