In a recent interview with the Washington Examiner, newly-elected Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair Lara Trump discussed the party's priorities moving forward and emphasized the need to protect the vote as constituents head to the ballot box in November.

Trump acknowledged the strategic advantage that Democrats have had, stating, "We've been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess." She highlighted the importance of utilizing "legal ballot harvesting" to stay competitive against the Democrats, recognizing the limitations faced by the GOP, such as the absence of a single voting day, paper ballots, and voter ID requirements everywhere.

To ensure early success, Trump stressed the significance of early and mail-in voting where possible, allowing the GOP to have votes "banked" well before Election Day. She expressed the RNC's intention to adopt legal ballot harvesting, a practice never before used by the committee. Trump explained that trained poll watchers and lawyers would be deployed across the country to physically count incoming and outgoing ballots on Election Day.

Trump also laid out her vision for the RNC under her leadership, with a particular focus on restoring people's trust in the electoral process. Acknowledging concerns about where donations to the RNC ultimately go, she pledged to ensure that every dollar donated would be directed toward securing victories in elections at all levels, from the top of the ballot to local races.

The Republican National Committee recently concluded its vote, electing Donald Trump's handpicked team to lead the party. Michael Whatley, a North Carolina Republican, was elected as the party's new national chairman, while Lara Trump, married to the former president's son Eric Trump, was voted in as co-chair. In his speech after being elected, Whatley declared that the RNC would tirelessly work to elect Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States.

Lara Trump's key responsibilities as co-chair will include fundraising efforts and making media appearances to promote the party's message. She showcased her commitment to fundraising, proudly revealing a $100,000 check that had been contributed to the party on her first day as co-chair.

The functional head of the RNC will be Chris LaCivita, who will take on the role of chief of staff while also maintaining his position as one of the top advisers to the Trump campaign. Notably, longtime RNC chair Ronna McDaniel stepped down, citing concerns about internal cohesion and emphasizing the need for Republicans to avoid attacking each other, as it hampers their chances of victory. McDaniel also stressed the importance of engaging with independent and swing voters, recognizing that the party must broaden its appeal beyond its own members.

As November approaches, Trump's strategy of emphasizing early and mail-in voting, legal ballot harvesting, and the engagement of trained poll watchers and lawyers indicates the RNC's determination to secure electoral successes in the upcoming elections.
