Several Republican state representatives have made another attempt at impeaching Secretary of State Jena Griswold, accusing her of using her position as a political platform for her partisan ideology. In a letter addressed to Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie, Rep. Ryan Armagost and 16 other representatives from the Colorado House Republicans expressed their concerns about Griswold's alleged lack of transparency and questionable bias.

The letter comes on the heels of a Supreme Court ruling that overruled a group of voters' attempt to remove former President Donald Trump from Colorado's primary ballot. Following the court's final ruling on Monday, Griswold openly expressed her disappointment with the decision. This has prompted the state house Republican members to call for her impeachment, citing her push to remove Trump from the ballot as evidence of a lack of professionalism and integrity.

The representatives argue that the removal of Trump from the ballot would have silenced the voice of Coloradans statewide, raising concerns about a direct threat to citizens' freedom of speech. According to the letter, Griswold's partisan political beliefs have frequently been evident in her communication to the state, indicating a disregard for unbiased and fair elections.

In response to the call for impeachment, Griswold released a statement to FOX31, denouncing the efforts as baseless political games. She vowed not to be intimidated and affirmed her commitment to working for all Colorado voters, irrespective of their political affiliation, to ensure free and fair elections.

The representatives pushing for impeachment include Representatives Ryan Armagost, Rose Pugliese, Ty Winter, Scott Bottoms, Mary Bradfield, Brandi Bradley, Marc Catlin, Ken DeGraaf, Gabe Evans, Lisa Frizell, Anthony Hartsook, Richard Holtorf, Mike Lynch, Matt Soper, Rick Taggart, Ron Weinberg, and Don Wilson.

According to the letter, the representatives had previously attempted to remove Griswold from her position in early February, but a hearing has yet to be scheduled. Therefore, they are now calling for an immediate rescheduling of the proceedings.

It remains to be seen how this impeachment attempt will unfold and whether it will gain enough support to move forward. The controversy surrounding the potential removal of Secretary of State Jena Griswold continues to draw attention and polarize Colorado's political landscape.
