In a recent development surrounding the ongoing impeachment inquiry against President Biden, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has urged the GOP to clarify the specific charges they are accusing the president of. Ocasio-Cortez pointed out that the lack of clear allegations raises questions about the basis of the inquiry.

During a hearing on Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez drew attention to the recent arrest of a former FBI informant who had fabricated a claim that Biden accepted a bribe while serving as vice president. She emphasized that, rather than focusing on the validity of the impeachment inquiry, the focus should be on why it is continuing despite the absence of concrete charges against the president.

Expressing her concern, Ocasio-Cortez stated, "I have yet to hear in the chairman's opening the allegation that they are specifically charging the president of the United States with. I am hearing about the 'Biden family.' I am hearing about this and that. I am not hearing the specific allegation by this committee. What is it? It is not here. And that is the problem."

The congresswoman emphasized that the real issue lies in why the committee proceeded with the impeachment inquiry despite knowing that they were working with falsified evidence. "The story is when this committee knew they were working with falsified evidence? That is the story," she asserted.

The hearing took place against a backdrop of growing skepticism among Republicans regarding the outcome of the investigation, with doubts arising about the likelihood of a formal impeachment trial. In an attempt to add weight to their argument, Republicans invited two witnesses who had limited connections to Hunter Biden's business dealings.

Among the witnesses was Tony Bobulinski, who briefly collaborated with Hunter Biden on a deal that ultimately did not materialize. Bobulinski, now represented by an attorney who previously worked with several Trump White House aides, has since become aligned with former President Trump's allies. Jason Galanis, who is currently incarcerated on fraud charges, claimed to have worked with Hunter Biden but his involvement is disputed. Hunter Biden, on the other hand, stated he only briefly encountered Galanis several years ago.

As the impeachment inquiry unfolds, the pressure mounts on Republicans to provide explicit charges against President Biden. The lack of clarity regarding the allegations against the president raises concerns about the veracity and necessity of the ongoing investigation.
