The cause of his death was revealed by Nkem on her social media account, where she disclosed that Obi Ndefo had battled the eating disorder orthorexia, and his heart ultimately gave out. In light of this tragic event, Nkem Ndefo hopes to raise awareness about the severity of orthorexia and the need for compassionate care for those affected by it.

Obi Ndefo was widely recognized for his role as Bodie Wells in the popular teen drama series "Dawson's Creek." He portrayed the boyfriend of Bessie Potter, played by Nina Repeta, from 1998 to 2002. Ndefo's character brought depth and charisma to the show, and he became a beloved figure among fans.

However, Ndefo's life took a devastating turn in 2019 when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in a Los Angeles parking lot.
