### Lions Dominate Jaguars with Record-Breaking Victory

The Detroit Lions delivered another outstanding performance, trouncing the Jacksonville Jaguars 52-6 on Sunday. With quarterback Jared Goff throwing for four touchdowns, two of which were caught by Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Lions solidified their position as the NFC leaders.

This remarkable victory marked Detroit's eighth consecutive win and improved their record to 9-1 for the first time since 1934. Notably, the win established a new franchise record with a 46-point margin, while also setting an all-time high for total yards in a game at 645. In stark contrast, the Jaguars managed just 170 yards.

"Normally, this doesn't happen," admitted head coach Dan Campbell after pulling most starters by the fourth quarter, allowing backup Hendon Hooker to gain valuable game experience. "It's a good problem to have."

David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs also made significant contributions, each scoring on the ground. The Lions' commanding offense allowed them to mount a 28-3 lead by halftime, and they continued to dominate in the second half. Goff sealed the victory with touchdown passes to Jameson Williams, Brock Wright, and another to St. Brown.

Jacksonville's struggles continued under coach Doug Pederson, whose job security appears uncertain following the team's dismal 2-9 record and four-game losing streak. Rookie kicker Cam Little was the solitary bright spot for the Jaguars, making a career-best 59-yard field goal to open the game.

The Lions' defense was bolstered by the debut of Za'Darius Smith, who recorded a sack. In contrast, Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones, filling in for the injured Trevor Lawrence, faced difficulties, completing 17 of 29 passes for 138 yards and an interception.

Injuries contributed to Jacksonville's struggles, with Lawrence absent for a second consecutive game and several key players leaving due to injury. Detroit also faced its share of setbacks, including linebacker Alex Anzalone's broken forearm, which will sideline him for six to eight weeks.

As the Lions prepare to face Indianapolis next, the Jaguars head into a bye week with questions surrounding the future of their head coach.
