**Real Madrid Investigates Racist Insults During Barcelona Clash**

Real Madrid has initiated an investigation into racist insults targeted at players during their 4-0 defeat against Barcelona at the Bernabeu. Spanish media revealed that Lamine Yamal, a 17-year-old forward of Equatorial Guinean and Moroccan descent playing for Barcelona, was subjected to xenophobic and racist abuse.

Real Madrid issued a firm statement condemning the actions of the offending fans and expressing regret over the incident. "Real Madrid strongly condemns any kind of behaviour involving racism, xenophobia or violence in football and sport, and deeply regrets the insults that a few fans uttered last night in one of the corners of the stadium," the club said on Sunday.

Efforts to combat an increase in racist abuse within Spanish football have been ongoing, with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga implementing measures like partial stadium closures. Recently, four individuals were arrested and questioned in connection to an online hate campaign aimed at inciting racial abuse against Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr, ahead of a previous match against Atletico Madrid.

This incident follows a landmark case in June, when the Magistrate's Court of Valencia issued the first-ever conviction for racist insults in a football stadium in Spain. The ongoing issue highlights the pressing need for stringent actions to eradicate racism from the sport.
