**Ravens Activate Keaton Mitchell Ahead of Thursday Night Clash Against Bengals**

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens, renowned for their top-ranked offense in the NFL, have activated dynamic running back Keaton Mitchell ahead of their Thursday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Mitchell, who has been out of action since tearing his ACL in December 2023, returned to full practice participation this week and is now back on the active roster.

Mitchell's return was facilitated by a roster move on Thursday when the Ravens waived outside linebacker Yannick Ngakoue. In his five games this season, Ngakoue contributed 1.5 sacks and registered four quarterback hits. Baltimore, which had anticipated Mitchell's return in November, is eager to see him back, especially after his impressive rookie season as an undrafted player. Last season, Mitchell averaged an impressive 8.4 yards per carry, racking up 396 rushing yards and scoring two long touchdown runs in just eight games.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh had been cautious about activating Mitchell, emphasizing that the decision would depend on Mitchell's readiness. Mitchell suffered his knee injury during Week 15 of last season in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, resulting in a prolonged recovery period. On October 23, Mitchell returned to practice, with Harbaugh praising his progress.

Mitchell's speed is expected to complement the power running of Derrick Henry, who currently leads the league with 1,052 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. The Ravens' dominant offense, which leads the NFL in total yards (445.9) and rushing yards (191.9) per game, could benefit significantly from Mitchell's explosive playmaking abilities.

In addition to his potential impact in the running game, Mitchell could also address the Ravens' struggles in the kickoff return game. Baltimore ranks 27th in this category, with an average of 24.2 yards per return this season.
