NEW YORK -- The highly anticipated series opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets has been postponed due to inclement weather. A heavy thunderstorm rolled through Queens on Monday afternoon, prompting the teams to reschedule the game as a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Originally slated for a 4:10 p.m. ET start, the series opener will now be played as the first game of a single-admission doubleheader on Tuesday, beginning at the same time. The second game will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

In light of the rainout, the Mets have made changes to their starting rotation for the doubleheader. Tylor Megill, who was set to return from the injured list to pitch on Monday, will now take the mound in Game 1. José Quintana will handle pitching duties for Game 2.

On the other side, the Dodgers have also made adjustments to their rotation. Tyler Glasnow will get the start in Game 1, taking the place of the originally scheduled pitcher, Gavin Stone, who will now pitch Game 2.

Fans who had tickets for Monday's game will not be able to use them for the rescheduled doubleheader on Tuesday. However, they will have the opportunity to exchange their tickets for any future game, except for the June 25-26 Subway Series. Tickets for Tuesday's originally scheduled 7:10 p.m. ET game will be valid for both games of the doubleheader.
