**Queen Camilla Withdraws From Royal Appearance Due to Health Concerns**
Queen Camilla, aged 77, will not be making an appearance today at the Royal Variety Performance, as she follows medical advice to prioritize her health. The queen consort has had a busy week, including hosting a reception, posting a tribute to her late dog, and receiving an Honorary Doctorate of Literature from her sister-in-law, Princess Anne. However, a lingering health issue has necessitated some rest.
Buckingham Palace released an update on Queen Camilla's health just hours before her scheduled appearance with King Charles at the event. This marks the second time in recent weeks that health concerns have forced her to cancel her plans, with a previous instance causing her to miss the Remembrance Day events.
The Palace's statement noted that the queen is experiencing ongoing post-viral symptoms following a recent chest infection. Following a busy schedule over the past week, her doctors have advised her to rest sufficiently. With considerable regret, the Queen has consequently withdrawn from tonight's Royal Variety Performance, though King Charles will attend as planned.
Earlier this month, a similar health issue prevented Queen Camilla from attending the Remembrance Day gatherings, which were attended by other royal family members including King Charles, Prince William, Princess Catherine, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh, and Princess Anne.
Despite her need for rest now, Queen Camilla has been active this week. Notably, she was honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Literature during a ceremony at Senate House in London, presented by Princess Anne.
We send our best wishes to Queen Camilla for a speedy recovery.
