**Prince William Highlights Marine Conservation at Monaco Forum**

Prince William has further cemented his role as a key global statesman with a solo appearance at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco. His speech on June 8 underscored the urgency of protecting marine ecosystems ahead of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference.

At the Grimaldi Forum, the Prince of Wales addressed a gathering that included French President Emmanuel Macron, Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, and Prince Albert II of Monaco. His remarks emphasized the dire need to safeguard oceanic biodiversity, a subject that resonates strongly with his long-standing environmental advocacy.

The prince noted that while oceans cover 70% of the Earth's surface and generate half of its oxygen, a staggering 97% remains unprotected. He called for concerted global efforts to meet the target of protecting 30% of the planet's land and sea by 2030.

The event comes amid King Charles's ongoing cancer treatment, highlighting Prince William's expanding responsibilities. Following in his father's footsteps, William has been a dedicated conservationist, and his focus on the ocean aligns seamlessly with his environmental priorities.

The forum also served as a platform to showcase success stories from his Earthshot Prize initiative. Coral Vita, the 2021 Earthshot Prize winner, shared its advancements in coral reef restoration, having cultivated over 100,000 corals across 52 species. Another Earthshot finalist, Pristine Seas, has contributed to the protection of vast marine regions in collaboration with Indigenous communities and governments.

Adding to the focus on environmental conservation, Kensington Palace recently released a film of Prince William's discussion with Sir David Attenborough. The exchange emphasizes the prince's commitment to elevating vital environmental dialogues as the legendary broadcaster prepares to release his new documentary, "Ocean with David Attenborough," this month.

As Prince William steps up his global advocacy, his actions reflect a deep commitment to not only raising awareness but also implementing tangible solutions to ensure a sustainable future for the Earth’s most vulnerable ecosystems.
