In a break from his royal duties, Prince William donned the role of an usher at the wedding of his close friend Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster. The high-profile event, disrupted briefly by environmental protesters, was held at Chester Cathedral in northwest England.

The wedding ceremony between 33-year-old Grosvenor, one of Britain's wealthiest landowners, and his partner Olivia Henson, 31, was a highly anticipated affair in high-society circles. The elegant bride graced the occasion in a white wedding dress designed by British designer Emma Victoria Payne, with a long veil worn over a tiara that gently fluttered in the wind.

Prince William, 41, joined his fellow ushers as they arrived at the cathedral, drawing cheers from the hundreds of onlookers gathered outside. The Duke of Westminster is known to be the godfather of Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, who unfortunately could not attend the wedding due to her cancer treatment.

Grosvenor, who inherited his title at the age of 25 following his father's passing in 2016, hails from a long line of landowners. The Grosvenor family has played a significant role in developing London's affluent neighborhoods of Mayfair and Belgravia, thanks to their acquisition of marshland in 1677 by Sir Thomas Grosvenor, who married heiress Mary Davies.

The Grosvenor Estate, owned by the family, boasts an impressive 300 acres of land in London, along with properties and retail spaces across Britain and around the world. The wedding reception was held at the duke's spectacular 10,000-acre Eaton Hall estate, located nearby the Chester Cathedral.

Notably, Prince William's younger brother, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle, who now reside in California with their two children, were unable to attend the wedding.

Despite the minor interruption caused by environmental protesters, the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor and Olivia Henson remained a celebration of love and union among esteemed individuals from high-society circles. Prince William's participation as an usher showcased the strong bond between the prince and the Duke of Westminster, making the event even more special.
