Prince William's absence at the memorial service for his late godfather, King Constantine of Greece, has caused speculation among royal experts. The memorial took place at St George's Chapel on Tuesday on the Windsor estate. The 41-year-old prince had to skip the service due to "personal reasons," as stated by Kensington Palace. While some speculated that William's absence was linked to his wife Kate Middleton's recent abdominal surgery, the palace clarified that Kate is "doing well." Royal biographer Phil Dampier emphasized the significance of William's absence, particularly considering the close relationship between Constantine and the royal family, including King Charles. The prince resides close to the chapel where the ceremony was held, which added to concerns about his sudden change in plans.

Guests at the church service were informed that William's absence was due to personal reasons, but no further details were provided. Queen Camilla led the British royal family during the memorial, as King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment, was unable to attend. Camilla was joined by other royal family members, including Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Anne, and Zara Tindall with her husband Mike Tindall.

King Constantine, who passed away on January 10 at the age of 82, was the last king of Greece before the monarchy was abolished in 1973. The absence of Prince William from the memorial service has raised questions and stirred interest in the reasons behind his unexpected non-appearance.
