### Polestar 4 Crossover SUV Now on Sale in the US as 2026 Model
The long-anticipated Polestar 4 crossover SUV is now officially available for purchase in the United States as a 2026 model. This marks a significant milestone for the Geely-owned, Swedish-designed automaker, which has had to navigate various challenges before reaching this point.
Initially unveiled in 2023 with production commencing in China later that same year, Polestar aimed to have the 4 model delivered to European and Australian markets by 2024. While these regions received their deliveries on schedule, U.S. customers experienced delays. The automaker opened orders for the 4 in April 2024 with a starting price of $54,900. However, the production faced a series of setbacks, such as the appointment of a new CEO and potential tariffs from the Trump Administration, causing the timeline to be adjusted.
As of today, the Polestar 4 is officially on sale in the United States for the 2026 model year, and it starts at $56,400. This updated version will be assembled in Busan, South Korea, representing a significant shift from the initial plan to manufacture them in China.
Rick Bryant, head of Polestar North America, expressed excitement about the release: "Following the successful launch of Polestar 4 in other markets around the world, we are thrilled to open the order books for the 2026 Polestar 4 in North America, which will all be built in Busan, South Korea. Polestar 4 confidently enters the premium performance class within the D-SUV segment. Our SUV coupe's innovative design offers generous interior space and a stunning appearance."
The 2026 Polestar 4 comes in five different variants tailored for the North American market. This slight reduction from initially planned eight models aims to streamline customer choice while still offering a diverse range of options.
In summary, with the assembly now set in South Korea and the streamlined variants, the Polestar 4 for the 2026 model year looks to capture the U.S. market's interest in premium electric SUVs.
