**Pep Guardiola Signs Two-Year Extension with Manchester City**

Pep Guardiola has committed his future to Manchester City, signing a two-year contract extension that will see him remain as the club’s manager until the summer of 2027. The decision extends his tenure to beyond a decade, with his previous contract set to expire at the end of the current season.

Despite a challenging period marked by four consecutive defeats across all competitions, Guardiola expressed his determination to turn the situation around. "I want to be honest, I thought this season should be the last one. But the problems we had in the last month, I felt now was not the right time to leave. I didn't want to let the club down," he explained to the club's in-house media team.

Guardiola reflected on his deep connection with Manchester City, stating, "This is my ninth season here, we have experienced so many amazing times together. I have a really special feeling for this football club. That is why I am so happy to be staying for another two more seasons." Appreciating the support he has received, Guardiola added, "I have said this many times before, but I have everything a manager could ever wish for, and I appreciate that so much. Hopefully now we can add more trophies to the ones we have already won. That will be my focus."

Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium in July 2016, Guardiola has led Manchester City to an era of unprecedented success. Under his leadership, the club has secured 18 trophies, including six Premier League titles, placing him just behind Sir Alex Ferguson, who holds the record with 13 Premier League wins.

Guardiola’s tenure peaked in the 2022-23 season when he guided Manchester City to a historic Treble, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League – a feat only previously achieved by Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United team in 1998-99. Further adding to their accomplishments, his team recently became the first to win four successive top-flight titles.

As Manchester City prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur at home, they currently sit second in the Premier League table, five points behind leaders Liverpool. Guardiola’s extension aims to bring stability and continued success to a club that has thrived under his guidance.
