### Panthers Halt Losing Streak with Narrow Win Over Saints
The Carolina Panthers managed to snap their losing streak in a nail-biting showdown, narrowly defeating the New Orleans Saints 23-22 at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. This victory avenged their season-opening loss to the Saints and improved their record to 2-7 while extending New Orleans’ losing streak to seven games, also making their record 2-7.
Chuba Hubbard was a key figure for the Panthers, scoring his second touchdown of the game with just 2:18 remaining, ultimately securing the narrow margin of victory. The game featured inconsistent play from both teams, with turnovers and missed opportunities shaping the outcome. A pivotal moment came late when Mike Jackson broke up a critical fourth-down pass from Derek Carr, thwarting a potential Saints comeback.
Despite the win, Carolina had its share of tense moments, particularly a fourth-quarter interception thrown by Bryce Young, which could have shifted momentum in favor of the Saints. Saints cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles, recently promoted from the practice squad, intercepted a pass to turn the game temporarily in New Orleans' favor. However, the Panthers managed to regain control, kneeling in the final moments to secure their long-awaited home victory.
Wide receiver Xavier Legette stood out with his fourth touchdown of the year, making significant contributions alongside rookie tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders and wide receiver Jalen Coker. Sanders had an impressive four catches for 87 yards, including a spectacular 46-yard hurdle-and-run play in the third quarter, which set up a Hubbard touchdown run for a 17-13 lead at the start of the second half. Bryce Young showed flashes of brilliance, finishing 16-of-26 for 171 yards, with a touchdown and an interception.
The Panthers' defense also held strong, limiting the Saints to their season-low total of 22 points, matching the Raiders’ total against them in Week 3. A tough break for the Saints came when Chris Olave suffered a concussion after a hard hit by Panthers safety Xavier Woods. Olave was carted off the field and transported for further evaluation but had movement in all extremities.
While the Panthers celebrated their victory, they faced some setbacks, including an early hand injury to Xavier Legette. Though he returned in the second half, he did not resume his role on the kickoff return team, which was taken over by Miles Sanders. The win brought a sense of relief and optimism as fans at Bank of America Stadium witnessed their team break a five-game losing streak with determination and grit.
