In a thrilling encounter, Pakistan suffered a heartbreaking six-run defeat against archrival India in the Men's T20 Cricket World Cup on Sunday. This loss, coupled with their unexpected defeat against the USA earlier in the week, has put Pakistan's progression in the tournament on a knife edge.

The match started with a rain delay of almost an hour, but when play finally began, India set a relatively low score of 119 all out. Pakistan started their run chase steadily, showing composure and control. However, key wickets lost at crucial junctures proved to be their downfall.

An India-Pakistan cricket match is always highly anticipated, given the geopolitical tensions between the two nations. The opening batsmen for India, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, provided a solid start before rain interrupted play after just one over.

Despite the interruption, India seemed to maintain their momentum when Kohli hit a sublime cover drive for four. However, he was dismissed just two balls later. In the next over, Rohit hit a shot straight to Haris Rauf off Shaheen Afridi, resulting in the quick loss of both key Indian batsmen.

Rishabh Pant tried to restore order for India, hitting boundaries in quick succession. However, India struggled to establish partnerships and collapsed from 89-3 to 96-7 in the 15th over, posting a low score on the challenging temporary pitch.

In response, Pakistan made a confident start to their run chase, steadily chipping away at India's total, with Mohammad Rizwan anchoring the innings. However, with just six overs remaining, Jasprit Bumrah bowled Rizwan, shifting the momentum in India's favor.

As the match neared its end, Pakistan found themselves needing 18 runs off the last over. Despite valiant attempts, they fell short of the target, ultimately losing by six runs.

With these back-to-back defeats, Pakistan's progression in the tournament now hangs on the results of the USA. The USA, having defeated Pakistan earlier in the week, now has a golden opportunity to secure a spot in the knockout stages.

Pakistan's hopes to advance further in the tournament now rest on a tense and nail-biting situation, as they anxiously await the outcome of the remaining matches.
