A Pacific Grove man is recovering after a miraculous rescue operation that took place near Hurricane Point in Big Sur. The man drove off a cliff, falling approximately 500 feet and was stranded for 36 hours before being rescued by emergency crews. The rescue operation covered the coastline from Big Sur to Carmel, and the driver was spotted waving to the search team next to his car.

Big Sur Fire Chief, Matt Harris, described the rescue as a miracle, especially considering the 500-foot fall the driver endured. The chief was the first to reach the man, who was later airlifted to safety. The victim had visible injuries to his face, head, and leg, but surprisingly, they were only moderate.

The victim reported swerving to avoid a deer, hitting a guardrail, and being thrown out from his sunroof, which led to the terrifying incident. Chief Harris emphasized that most people do not survive such accidents, making this rescue operation a best-case scenario. The emotional moment when the victim saw his family on the cliff added to the overwhelming relief of the rescue.

The video footage capturing the rescue showcased the intense operation required to save the man after his severe fall. This extraordinary rescue effort highlighted the dedication and skill of the emergency response teams involved in bringing the Pacific Grove man to safety after his harrowing experience.
