Leerdam and Paul made their relationship public in April 2023, following an Instagram post by Paul that included the caption, "I'm Dutch now." In the documentary series, "Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson," Leerdam revealed that the couple initially connected via social media and celebrated their one-year anniversary on April 12. Sharing her joy, Leerdam wrote on Instagram, "I adore you, I'm so grateful for you, you make me the happiest girl in the world." Paul echoed her sentiments, stating that he has "been in love since day one."
Before dating Leerdam, Jake Paul had a highly-publicized relationship with fellow YouTuber Tana Mongeau, with whom he staged a fake wedding for content purposes, later revealed in Mongeau's MTV show, "No Filter: Tana Mongeau." The couple parted ways in January 2020.
