Massive Ohio State Recruiting Weekend Attracts Top Football Talent

Ohio State University is gearing up for an exciting weekend as they host their second massive recruiting event of the spring. On Saturday, dozens of prospects will make their way to Columbus to attend the Buckeyes' "Student Appreciation Day" practice, which promises to be filled with energy and enthusiasm.

Headlining the event is five-star offensive tackle David Sanders, ranked as the number one tackle in the 2025 class. Sanders, who has not visited Columbus in nearly a year, will be making his long-awaited return. Offensive line coach Justin Frye is ready to make a compelling pitch to Sanders, knowing that a successful visit could bolster the Buckeyes' chances of securing the talented North Carolina prospect. While Sanders plans to make an official visit on June 21, a positive experience this weekend could further solidify Ohio State's standing with him.

Joining the recruitment efforts are committed players Tavien St. Clair and Carter Lowe, who will lend their support and help in convincing Sanders to join the Buckeyes as they aim to secure the country's number two overall prospect.

In addition to Sanders, another notable prospect attending the event is five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench. Ffrench, a sought-after player from Florida, is a top target for Ohio State. His presence on campus is a promising sign, and wide receiver coach Brian Hartline is optimistic about building on the positive momentum during Ffrench's visit.

The weekend also sees several other wide receiver prospects, including Talyn Taylor, Phillip Bell, Daylan McCutcheon, Donovan Olugbode, Marcus Harris, and Vernell Brown III. Excitingly, this will be Brown's second visit to Columbus this spring, indicating a potential interest in joining the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes have not neglected their defense either, welcoming key secondary prospects Faheem Delane, Jonah Williams, Jadyn Hudson, and cornerback Dorian Brew. Delane and Williams are high on Ohio State's radar, while Brew, despite having visited other schools, remains a priority for the Buckeyes. Defensive coach Tim Walton is determined to show Brew the extent of Ohio State's commitment, even with commitments already secured from the top two cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle.

The Ohio State University is also seizing the opportunity to pursue linebacker targets Tarvos Alford and Riley Pettijohn. Alford's commitment on Saturday is eagerly anticipated by James Laurinaitis, while Pettijohn, a highly coveted player from Texas, poses a challenge for the Buckeyes in keeping him away from his home state.

On the defensive line, defensive tackle Trent Wilson and defensive end London Merritt will be key visitors. Merritt, a priority target for Ohio State, has already scheduled an official visit for the summer, while Wilson's leanings towards other schools may still change.

With an impressive lineup of prospects and committed players ready to make their case for Ohio State, the Buckeyes are looking to make significant strides in their recruitment efforts this weekend.
