**Ohio State Dominates Iowa, Jeremiah Smith Shines with Spectacular One-Handed TD**
In a standout performance, Ohio State freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith continues his streak of remarkable one-handed touchdown catches, this time leading his team to a 35-7 victory over Iowa. The Buckeyes, now boasting a 5-0 record, showcased their offensive prowess with Smith's eye-catching 4-yard touchdown grab in their first possession of the second half.
Smith's touchdown, which saw him fend off Hawkeyes cornerback Deshaun Lee with his left hand while securing the ball with his right, capped off a nine-play, 86-yard drive. This spectacular play followed a significant 53-yard catch by Smith that brought the Buckeyes to Iowa's 4-yard line, setting the stage for his one-handed heroics.
This isn't Smith's first display of acrobatic catching. Last week, against Michigan State, he made two one-handed grabs that were pivotal in Ohio State's drive before halftime. The first catch was a 27-yard leap between two defenders, and the second was a dramatic touchdown catch that pushed the Buckeyes to a 24-7 halftime lead.
Against Iowa, Smith ended the game with four catches for 89 yards and one touchdown, along with a noteworthy 14-yard rush. Quarterback Will Howard contributed significantly with 209 passing yards, completing 21 of 25 attempts, including four touchdown passes, despite one interception. Emeka Egbuka also stood out with three touchdown receptions among his nine catches for 71 yards. Ohio State's ground game was led by Quinshon Judkins, who rushed for 78 yards on 13 carries, while TreVeyon Henderson added 61 yards on 11 carries.
Iowa, struggling to match Ohio State's intensity, was led by Kaleb Johnson, who rushed for 86 yards on 15 carries and scored their only touchdown. Quarterback Cade McNamara had a challenging game, throwing for just 98 yards with an interception, completing 14 of his 20 passes and suffering three sacks. Overall, the Hawkeyes managed 225 total yards of offense and ten first downs.
Ohio State's comprehensive performance underscored their offensive and defensive strength, with Jeremiah Smith's extraordinary catches making a significant impact once again.
