The NYPD has stated that the suspect, Raad Almansoori, 26, has been taken into custody in connection with the beating death of 38-year-old Denisse Oleas-Arancibia in a SoHo hotel room in New York City. Almansoori has a criminal record spanning multiple states, including New York, Florida, Arizona, and Texas.

Almansoori is believed to have targeted women in his crimes, some of whom were escorts. Following the incident in SoHo, he allegedly flew from JFK Airport to Arizona, where he stole a vehicle at knifepoint and later assaulted a woman at a McDonald's.

Police were able to track Almansoori's movements using credit card usage, leading to his arrest. They suspect him of other crimes, including a 2023 case of kidnapping and sexual assault in Sumter County, Florida, for which he posted bail. Additionally, he has an outstanding warrant in Texas.

Authorities found Oleas-Arancibia unconscious next to a bloody iron in the SoHo 54 Hotel on Watts Street, where she was later pronounced dead. Police determined that she had been beaten with the iron and strangled, with plastic fragments discovered in her skull.

Almansoori has been charged with multiple offenses related to the stabbings, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and robbery. He is currently being held without bond after his booking into jail on Monday.

The NYPD has issued alerts to law enforcement agencies nationwide, and is collaborating with the FBI to investigate any additional potential crimes involving Almansoori.
