In a series of recent announcements, Stewart-Haas Racing's Cup driver lineup for the upcoming season has started to take shape after the news of the team's shutdown. The latest addition to find a new ride is Noah Gragson, who has signed a deal to drive for Front Row Motorsports in their Cup cars in 2025. Gragson will join Todd Gilliland as teammates, with the third driver for Front Row still to be determined.

Gragson's signing comes after Chase Briscoe and Josh Berry had already announced their plans for the 2025 season with Joe Gibbs Racing and Wood Brothers Racing, respectively. However, Ryan Preece, the fourth Cup driver for SHR, is yet to solidify his plans for the upcoming season as he continues talks with various teams in NASCAR's national series, in the hopes of securing a ride where he can contend for wins.

Gragson, who signed a multiyear deal with Front Row, will be replacing Michael McDowell, who is set to leave the team after this season to drive for Spire Motorsports in their No. 71 car. The specific car number and sponsors for Gragson's new ride are yet to be determined.

Front Row Motorsports has strengthened its manufacturer relationship with Ford, elevating it to Tier 1 status this year, while also forming an alliance with Team Penske. The team currently sits 19th and 22nd in owner points with its two cars.

Expressing his confidence in the team, Gragson said, "The Front Row Motorsports guys have speed each and every weekend. They also have an alliance with Penske. Being able to rely on their teammates... it's all thumbs up for me."

At just 25 years old, Gragson will be driving for his fourth Cup team in as many years in 2025. He began his Cup career with a partial schedule in 2022 for Kaulig Racing, followed by a full-time ride in 2023 at Legacy Motor Club. However, his season abruptly ended in August due to an indefinite suspension for liking a racially insensitive social media meme. Gragson then signed with SHR and replaced Aric Almirola for the 2024 season, where he has had a solid performance with an average finish of 18.3. Currently, he sits 23rd in the standings.

Team owner Bob Jenkins expressed his confidence in Gragson's abilities, stating, "He has just the right amount of experience in the NASCAR Cup Series to break out and become a winner for years to come."

Gragson has built a strong fan base driving for JR Motorsports and is known for his charismatic personality that walks the line between fun-loving and immaturity. He finished second in the 2018 truck standings and made the Championship 4 in both 2021 and 2022 in the Xfinity series, where he claimed victory 13 times between 2020 and 2022.

As of now, no crew chief has been named for Gragson at Front Row Motorsports, but it is expected that current crew chief Travis Peterson will move with McDowell to Spire Motorsports. McDowell himself currently holds the 22nd position in the standings.

With Gragson's signing, the 2025 Cup driver lineup for Stewart-Haas Racing is nearing completion, providing a new opportunity for Gragson to continue his promising career in the NASCAR Cup Series.
