### Francis Ngannou Set for MMA Return Against Renan Ferreira at PFL's Battle of the Giants in Saudi Arabia

Francis Ngannou, after his departure from the UFC and vacating the heavyweight title, is back in mixed martial arts. Now signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), Ngannou will face knockout artist Renan Ferreira in the main event of PFL's "Battle of the Giants" on Saturday in Saudi Arabia. Despite a respectable buildup between the fighters, their last faceoff turned intense, adding needed excitement to the bout.

The co-main event will feature Cris Cyborg squaring off against Larissa Pacheco, and Johnny Eblen will take on Fabian Edwards in a highly anticipated rematch. Additionally, the main card highlights a lightweight clash between former Bellator champ A.J. McKee and Paul Hughes.

Ngannou is expected to win his fight against Ferreira. However, Ferreira's recent momentum, including a swift knockout of Bellator heavyweight champ Ryan Bader, makes him a formidable opponent. Ngannou faces immense pressure from his hiatus, recent boxing ventures, and the PFL's investment, as well as personal stakes. Nevertheless, Ngannou's adaptability in MMA strategies may lead him to victory, possibly through ground and pound in the second round.

Cris Cyborg and Larissa Pacheco's match-up holds high intrigue. Cyborg's transition from Bellator to PFL has been bumpy, with only two MMA fights since April 2022. Meanwhile, Pacheco has been on a remarkable streak, including being the only fighter to defeat Kayla Harrison. Despite Cyborg not being at her peak, her experience might edge out Pacheco in what could be the first of many encounters.

Johnny Eblen finds himself at a critical juncture as he faces Fabian Edwards once again. Although Eblen is undefeated, his previous performance against Edwards and a close fight with Impa Kasanganay left some doubting his supremacy. Eblen needs a decisive win to affirm his standing, and he is predicted to secure a stoppage in the third round.

The lightweight battle between A.J. McKee and Paul Hughes promises to be a thrilling contest. McKee's move to the lightweight division has enhanced his appeal and threat level. Conversely, Hughes, a rising star, still has room to reach his potential. This fight could see McKee winning a decision, with Hughes proving his mettle in the process.

The event kicks off with a four-fight preliminary card at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+ in the U.S. and on DAZN internationally, followed by the five-fight main card at 4 p.m. ET.
