**Green Bay Packers to Face Minnesota Vikings on CBS This Sunday**

For the first time this 2024 season, the Green Bay Packers will have their game broadcast on CBS. Traditionally, the NFL has maintained a separation between NFC and AFC matchups by assigning them to FOX and CBS respectively. However, this distinction has become more relaxed in recent years, particularly for early games, which is why this week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings will be shown on CBS.

This scheduling change is particularly exciting for Packers fans due to the involvement of Kevin Harlan as the play-by-play announcer. Harlan, regarded as one of the premier voices in sports broadcasting, has a long-standing connection to the Packers. He has experience calling games for the Packers during the preseason and has deep personal ties to the area, being a Wisconsin native and the son of former Packers team president Bob Harlan. His daughter Olivia is also a broadcaster and is married to former Wisconsin Badgers basketball standout Sam Dekker.

Despite the thrill of having Harlan call the game, not all fans will have the chance to watch it locally. The broadcast is scheduled against three other CBS games in the early time slot: Broncos-Jets, Jaguars-Texans, and Steelers-Colts. As a result, viewers in the upper Midwest, plains states, much of the west coast, and Alaska are in luck, but other regions will miss out on Packers-Vikings.

For those interested in broader coverage, CBS features a doubleheader this week, with the later game being Chiefs vs. Chargers, which will be accessible to most of the country. However, Ohio, West Virginia, and Nevada viewers will instead watch Browns-Raiders. Meanwhile, FOX is airing four early games, but many regions showing the Packers game on CBS will likely see Patriots-49ers in the late afternoon slot on FOX.

For precise viewing details, fans can check the broadcast maps at 506sports.com or consider subscribing to NFL Sunday Ticket to ensure they don’t miss the live action if their area is not designated for the Packers' broadcast.
