In a recent announcement, the New York Knicks confirmed that forward Bojan Bogdanovic will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a left foot injury that required surgery. Bogdanovic, who recently turned 35, had been dealing with a wrist issue prior to his unfortunate foot injury during Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The incident occurred right after Bogdanovic checked into the game at the start of the second quarter. While both he and 76ers forward Nicolas Batum were chasing a loose ball, they got tangled up, resulting in Bogdanovic experiencing extreme pain and immediately going down on the ground.

Bogdanovic's absence will be felt by the Knicks, as he was an important addition to the team at the trade deadline, acquired alongside Alec Burks to solidify the team's depth for the end of the season. Throughout the first four games of the series, Bogdanovic played a crucial reserve role for the Knicks, including hitting key 3-pointers in their Game 1 victory at Madison Square Garden.

It is worth noting that Bogdanovic has a $19 million salary for next season, of which $2 million is guaranteed. However, the entire amount will become fully guaranteed if he remains on the roster by June 28.

The Knicks are already facing numerous injury concerns, with All-Star forward Julius Randle ruled out for the rest of the season due to shoulder surgery. Additionally, the availability of Mitchell Robinson for Tuesday night's Game 5 remains uncertain due to an ankle injury.

Despite the setbacks, the Knicks have a chance to advance to the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season with a victory in Game 5. Securing a win at Madison Square Garden would also mark the team's first postseason advancement at home since 1999, adding an extra layer of significance to the upcoming game.

As Bogdanovic begins his recovery, the Knicks will need to rally together and find ways to compensate for his absence as they aim to continue their playoff journey and make a memorable run.
