**Jets Struggle Initially but Avoid Historical Low Against Colts**

In a sluggish start to their Week 11 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, the New York Jets failed to gain any first downs until late in the second quarter. The game’s beginning was marked by a series of unsuccessful drives: punt, punt, punt, turnover on downs, and another punt. It was a troublesome start, reminiscent of their 2005 game against the New England Patriots, when the Jets also failed to secure a first down in their first five possessions.

New York's offense repeatedly faltered early on, managing just three-and-outs on each drive except for a failed fourth-and-1 attempt. This level of struggle hasn’t been seen in nearly two decades, back when 40-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers was just starting his professional career.

However, the Jets managed to avoid becoming part of unwanted history. Unlike their nearly two-decade-old performance, they did manage to move the chains for the first time in the game with just 1:30 left in the second quarter. Despite being down 13-0 at that time, this first down initiated a promising drive. The team went 76 yards in seven plays, closing the gap to 13-7 by halftime.

By the end of the first half, the Jets had accumulated three total first downs—two through passing and one via rushing. Their struggles on third down continued, converting only one out of six attempts. Aaron Rodgers completed 9 of 13 passes for 76 yards, with one touchdown and one sack.

Both teams came into this game desperately needing a win to keep their seasons alive, with the Jets holding a 3-7 record and the Colts at 4-6. As the second half unfolds, both teams will look to capitalize on opportunities to shift momentum in their favor.
