**Jets' WR Allen Lazard Placed on Injured Reserve, Misses at Least Four Games**

The New York Jets face a significant setback as wide receiver Allen Lazard has been placed on injured reserve due to a chest injury sustained in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lazard's absence, effective for at least the next four games, leaves quarterback Aaron Rodgers without one of his primary targets.

Lazard had been serving as the No. 3 receiver behind Garrett Wilson and newly acquired Davante Adams. With Lazard sidelined, the Jets are likely to retain Mike Williams rather than trading him. Williams, who had moved down to the No. 4 spot after Adams' arrival, is now expected to play a more crucial role in the offense. The NFL trade deadline is looming on Nov. 5.

Despite having six drops this season, Lazard has been enjoying the most productive year of his career with 30 receptions for 412 yards and a team-leading five touchdowns. His performance has been a valuable asset for Rodgers, building on their four-season stint together with the Green Bay Packers. Lazard, who joined the Jets last year on a four-year, $44 million contract, had previously struggled, notching just 23 catches. Rodgers' return from his 2023 Achilles injury had rejuvenated Lazard’s performance.

In addition to Lazard, the Jets are dealing with other personnel changes. Riley Patterson has been slotted as the kicker for Thursday night's game against the Houston Texans, replacing Greg Zuerlein, who is also on injured reserve. Patterson, who hasn't played this season, previously kicked for the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cleveland Browns, boasting an 88% success rate on field goals.

The Jets also announced that defensive tackle Leki Fotu has been placed on injured reserve for the second time due to a knee injury. As the team navigates these roster changes, they'll need to rely on their depth to maintain competitiveness in the following weeks.
