**Neuralink Secures $650 Million in Series E Funding to Advance Brain-Computer Interface Technology**

Neuralink, Elon Musk's pioneering brain-computer interface company, has successfully raised $650 million in its Series E funding round. The announcement came via a company blog post on Monday, detailing the inclusion of notable investors such as ARK Invest, Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital, and Thrive Capital.

This recent influx of capital follows Neuralink’s Series D funding round, which amassed $280 million in 2023, with an additional $43 million added in subsequent months. Since that time, Neuralink has achieved significant advancements in its brain chip technology.

The company revealed that it has surgically implanted its brain chips in five individuals suffering from severe paralysis as part of ongoing human clinical trials. In a notable development in May, Neuralink received the breakthrough device designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This designation is meant to accelerate the development, assessment, and review processes for innovative and experimental technologies.

Recent reports indicate that this funding deal places Neuralink's valuation at approximately $9 billion pre-money. This substantial financial backing is expected to further drive the company’s ambitious efforts to revolutionize human-machine interaction and enhance the quality of life for individuals with debilitating conditions.
