NBC Universal, a division of the media giant NBCUniversal, is providing users the ability to opt out of personalized online advertising. By combining personal information with data from various sources, online ad partners can deliver more relevant ads to users. This process, considered "selling" or "sharing/processing" under applicable law, allows for targeted online advertising. Residents of specific states listed in the 'Your Rights' section of NBCUniversal's Privacy Policy have the option to decline the sharing or processing of their personal information for targeted advertising purposes.

Individuals in the states identified in the Privacy Policy have the opportunity to opt out of the selling or sharing/processing of information such as cookies and device identifiers used for targeted advertising by adjusting their settings. By toggling off the relevant options, users can choose to limit the use of their personal information for tailored advertisements. However, for those outside the specified states, this choice may not apply, and they may continue to receive personalized ads based on first-party information only.

Furthermore, users are reminded to manage their preferences on each site or app they use to access NBCUniversal services. Clearing cookies may necessitate revisiting these preferences, and users can also adjust their geolocation permissions for mobile apps on their devices. Additionally, while some cookies are necessary for service functionality like security and fraud prevention, they can be blocked in the browser settings, although this may impact the site's performance.
