**Hurricane Policies at Major Florida Theme Parks: What You Need to Know**

The recent hurricane prompted several closures at popular Florida theme parks, inconveniencing many guests with scheduled visits. Here’s a comprehensive look at the hurricane policies for Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida, outlining how you can reschedule or request refunds for your tickets.

**Walt Disney World’s Hurricane Policy**

Walt Disney World Resort’s website states that in the event of a hurricane warning issued by the National Hurricane Center for either the Orlando area or a guest's place of residence within seven days of their scheduled arrival, they will issue refunds or allow modifications to the dates of the reservations. This policy applies to tickets and reservations made directly through Disney. For bookings made through third-party suppliers, guests should contact those suppliers directly to explore their options.

**Universal Orlando’s Hurricane Policy**

Universal Orlando’s policy offers flexibility in similar situations. Their website mentions that if a hurricane or tropical storm warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center or a state of emergency is declared for the Orlando area or a guest's residence within seven days before arrival, guests can reschedule or cancel their plans without incurring cancellation or change fees. This includes Universal Parks & Resorts Vacations Packages and in-park tickets booked directly with Universal Orlando.

For guests who had tickets to visit Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure on October 10, or Universal Volcano Bay on October 9 or 10, tickets are now valid for any visit until December 18, 2024. There’s no need to call or visit Guest Services; guests can go directly to the park entrance on their chosen new date and present their existing tickets.

Both parks uphold a "Weather-or-Not Assurance" program, ensuring the value of park admission regardless of adverse weather conditions throughout the year. However, certain conditions and exclusions apply, such as complimentary tickets and promotional multi-day tickets, which may not be covered under this program.

**LEGOLAND Florida’s Hurricane Policy**

LEGOLAND Florida is equally committed to guests' safety and convenience. According to their website, if the National Hurricane Center issues a tropical storm or hurricane warning for central Florida or a guest’s residence within seven days of the arrival date, guests can cancel or reschedule without penalties. This policy covers LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park and Water Park tickets, Peppa Pig Theme Park tickets, and hotel reservations booked directly through LEGOLAND or affiliated partners.

**Special Event Ticket Information**

For specific events, the policies are as follows:

- Mickey's Not-So-Scary Party, scheduled for October 10, 2024, was canceled. Refunds for tickets purchased directly from Disney using a credit or debit card will be processed automatically within seven business days.

- Universal's Halloween Horror Nights tickets dated for October 9 or 10 can be used on any remaining event nights. Guests do not need to contact Guest Services and can simply present their tickets at the entrance gate on the night they choose to attend.

These updated policies and ticket guidelines ensure that guests impacted by the hurricane can manage their travel plans with minimal stress, accommodating changes and offering alternatives where possible.
