### NASCAR Revises Charlotte Roval Chicane Curbs Amid Safety Concerns

In response to driver feedback, NASCAR and Speedway Motorsports have modified the curbing in the frontstretch chicane at the Charlotte Roval for the upcoming Cup Series race this Sunday. The original 4-inch 'turtles' have been replaced by 2.25-inch curbing. This adjustment aims to mitigate the physical impact drivers experience when navigating the chicane, reducing the likelihood of their cars bottoming out upon landing.

The decision to alter the curbing comes after multiple drivers expressed concerns following Saturday's practice and qualifying sessions. Notably, Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch reported that the impact felt similar to sustaining a concussion. Their feedback prompted NASCAR to promptly address the issue to ensure driver safety during the race.

In addition to the curb modifications, NASCAR also reiterated the rules concerning track limits and the penalties for cutting the chicane. Drivers are required to follow the full course, and deviations, especially at the chicanes, will be penalized. The prescribed penalties include a stop-and-go procedure to be completed in specific locations depending on where the infraction occurred. Failure to comply with these rules could result in more severe measures, such as a pass-through penalty or a post-race time penalty of 30 seconds.
