In an exciting development, the popular Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has announced a new name, logo, and a host of new exhibits set to launch next week. Taking to social media on Tuesday, the museum unveiled its "fresh new identity," which will officially take effect from Monday onwards. The museum will henceforth be known as the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

This name change comes as a result of a groundbreaking $125 million donation made by Chicago billionaire Ken Griffin in 2019. Acknowledging this milestone, the museum seeks to honor the largest single gift it has ever received. However, before officially adopting the new name, the museum wanted to ensure that the exterior of the building reflected the progress made within. They believe that the time is now right to embrace their new identity as the Griffin Museum.

Founder and CEO of Citadel, Ken Griffin expressed his admiration for the museum, referring to it as "one of the most important institutions of science in the world." He emphasized his commitment to supporting the museum's mission to inspire scientific exploration and innovation, particularly among the next generation.

The majority of the generous donation will be utilized to secure the long-term future of the museum. Additionally, plans are in place to create the Pixel Studio, a state-of-the-art digital gallery and performance space that will be the first of its kind in North America. The aim is to enhance the museum's offerings and provide visitors with an unparalleled digital interactive experience.

In addition to the rebranding, the Griffin Museum has unveiled a new logo that features a contemporary take on their iconic cube, with softer edges symbolizing inclusivity and accessibility for all. They aim to modernize and innovate while keeping their rich history in mind.

Among the new experiences at the museum, guests can look forward to the Griffin Studio, described as a one-of-a-kind immersive digital gallery. The premier exhibit, "Notes to Neurons," explores the profound connection between music and emotions.

"This exciting evolution as the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry demonstrates our commitment to progress, modernization, and innovation, as well as our dedication to our visitors and community," said the museum on its website.

The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is eagerly anticipating its official launch on Monday, where patrons can expect a fresh new experience that embraces the spirit of scientific exploration and discovery.
