In a tragic turn of events, Montenegro goalkeeper Matija Sarkic, who previously played for English second-tier club Millwall, has sadly passed away at the age of 26. The news of Sarkic's untimely death was announced by Millwall on Saturday, although no further details surrounding the cause of death were disclosed.

Sarkic's most recent appearance for Montenegro came on June 5th in a 2-0 loss against Belgium, marking his ninth international cap as confirmed by the Montenegro soccer federation. The talented goalkeeper was held in high regard by both club and country, showcasing his skills and dedication on the field.

Having joined Millwall from Premier League team Wolverhampton in August of last year, Sarkic made 33 appearances for the London-based club.
