While the cause of his son's death was not disclosed, Ngannou expressed the profound pain he and his family are enduring, as his desperate calls for his son went unanswered.
Expressing his anguish, Ngannou wrote, "Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most. How do you deal with such a thing? How can you live with it?" Prior to his announcement, Ngannou had also taken to social media to question the purpose and fairness of life, contemplating why it always seemed to take away what is most cherished.
The former UFC heavyweight champion recently signed with the Professional Fighter's League in May 2023. Renowned for his powerful right hand, Ngannou has built a reputation as one of the most devastating knockout artists in MMA history, with 16 of his 17 victories coming by way of early finishes. It is clear that beyond his remarkable achievements in the sport, Ngannou's world has been shattered by an unimaginable loss.
Following the heartbreaking news, condolences flooded in from fellow athletes, fans, and colleagues who expressed their support on Ngannou's social media platforms. Cejudo remarked, "Losing family is the hardest thing a human can go through in life. We don't have the answer, but one day you'll meet again."
