ICARO Media Group
The week ahead is set to bring a mix of weather conditions, including stormy afternoons, cooler temperatures, and a chance of rain. Starting off on Monday, the day will begin with muggy and dry conditions, but temperatures will rise throughout the day, reaching the upper 70s by the afternoon. However, residents should be prepared for a 60% chance of storms in the afternoon, with the main time frame for potential severe thunderstorms being from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A flash flood warning has been issued for Somerset County in west central Maine until 9:30 a.m. as heavy downpours may cause localized flooding. The main risks associated with these thunderstorms include flash flooding, wind damage, and hail. Commuters are advised to exercise caution as the roads may become wet and ponding could occur.
Moving into Tuesday, the weather will be relatively drier with partly cloudy conditions and a high temperature of 80 degrees. However, storm chances will return on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by isolated storms and hotter temperatures, with highs reaching 88 degrees. It is essential to stay updated as severe weather conditions may develop.
By Thursday and Friday, the temperatures will cool down to the upper 60s and low 70s, with lower humidity levels providing more comfortable conditions. As the much-anticipated Labor Day weekend approaches, there is a possibility of rain chances over the weekend due to an approaching system. However, it is not expected to be a complete washout. Temperatures during the weekend will struggle to reach 80 degrees, resulting in near-normal conditions.
Residents are advised to monitor the weather updates as the weekend draws closer for more accurate information about the potential for rainfall. Stay tuned for further updates and be prepared for varying weather conditions throughout the week.
