In an upcoming event on March 21st, Microsoft is set to announce new Surface devices, specifically targeting business and commercial customers. According to sources familiar with Microsoft's plans, the tech giant will introduce the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 models during the event.

Although the event will mainly focus on minor spec upgrades for the commercial versions of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, a more significant redesign is expected for the consumer models of both devices later this spring.

While the commercial Surface Pro 10 will retain its familiar design and include the latest Intel chips, a notable change awaits consumers. Microsoft is reportedly shifting to OLED displays for the consumer version of the Surface Pro 10, as reported by Windows Central. However, the OLED model will not be unveiled during the March 21st event, which is primarily centered around the commercial refreshes of existing Surface models.

The consumer Surface Pro 10, along with the Surface Laptop 6, will offer Arm processor options, allowing Microsoft to introduce updated designs for both devices. As per Windows Central, the Surface Laptop 6 will boast thinner display bezels, rounded corners, a haptic touchpad, and multiple ports including two USB-C and one USB-A.

Rumors indicate that the Surface Pro 10 OLED model will feature an ultrawide front-facing webcam, a built-in NFC reader, and an anti-reflective OLED display capable of supporting HDR content. Microsoft is expected to release the Intel variants of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 in April, while the Arm variants are anticipated to arrive in June.

Both the commercial and consumer versions of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 will incorporate Microsoft's latest Copilot key, a significant part of the company's AI initiative for its Windows platform. The details of Microsoft's broader AI-powered features for a Windows 11 update, which is expected later this year, have not been disclosed yet. However, it is anticipated that Microsoft will unveil these plans at its upcoming Build developer conference.

Microsoft is not only enhancing the Copilot experience for Windows 11 but is also reportedly working on an advanced AI Explorer experience, according to Windows Central. This feature is described as an AI-powered tool that will catalog users' activities across their PCs, enabling them to search for specific moments either through a timeline or using natural language. This new AI-powered Explorer is expected to work seamlessly across various applications, broadening the utility of the feature compared to its predecessor, the Timeline feature in Windows 10.

Overall, Microsoft's upcoming event hints at exciting advancements in its Surface line-up, particularly with enhanced hardware specs and AI-driven features. Business customers can look forward to the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, while consumers can anticipate the redesigned models coming later this spring.
