**Michael Bisping Weighs In on Delay for Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall Fight Announcement**
In a recent YouTube video, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping shed light on why the eagerly awaited fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall has yet to be officially announced. According to Bisping, the delay is strategic, aiming to maximize the impact of the announcement for what he describes as "one of the most highly anticipated fights in all of UFC history."
Bisping explained that for a fight of this magnitude, the UFC prefers to do things in a grand manner. “You can’t just announce it, 'Oh, the fight is going to happen.' No. A fight of this magnitude, the UFC wanna do a proper job. They wanna announce it in spectacular fashion. They wanna have a press conference; they want the world’s media there. They don’t want someone on YouTube or whatever going, 'Yeah, that fight's happening,’” he said.
Reflecting on his own career, Bisping mentioned that even his fights were not allowed to be casually announced. "They wanted to announce them in the proper way to make sure all the world’s media is there, and it gets all the coverage that it deserves," he added. He stressed that the upcoming Jones vs Aspinall bout merits such attention, given the high level of anticipation from fans worldwide.
Despite the buzz, many UFC fans are skeptical about the fight actually taking place. In the comments section of Bisping’s nine-minute video, numerous fans expressed doubt. One fan commented, "Believe it when I see an official post on UFC Instagram," while another noted, "He did not say it's a done deal." Other fans were more dismissive, with one saying, "This fight will NEVER happen," and another questioning Bisping’s optimism, asserting, "This is a bit of a reach. Unless Bisping knows something we don't."
There is also a sentiment among fans that the UFC is in dire need of a blockbuster event right now. However, for the time being, the confirmation everyone is waiting for remains elusive, leaving both fans and the MMA community in eager anticipation.
