MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward continues to rewrite the school’s record books, surpassing two long-standing records held by legend Bernie Kosar. Ward, who is a strong contender for the Heisman Trophy, has already set multiple records this season and is on the path to breaking even more.

Ward eclipsed Kosar’s records for passing yards in a season and completions in a season during Saturday’s game. With a 13-yard completion to Damien Martinez at 1:27 left in the second quarter, Ward reached 3,643 passing yards, just surpassing Kosar’s 1984 record of 3,642 yards.

Ward wasn’t done, however. Later in the game, he completed a 15-yard pass to Xavier Restrepo, marking his 263rd completion of the season. This broke Kosar’s previous record of 262 completions, which had also stood since 1984.

Kosar, respecting the achievement, congratulated Ward on social media, posting: "Congrats #CamWard. U R Awesome."

Ward is also poised to break Miami’s single-season record for completion percentage. The current record of 65.8% was set by Tyler Van Dyke last year. Additionally, Ward is on track to surpass Miami’s career completion percentage record of 64.3%, which was established by D’Eriq King during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
