**Mets Strike Early to Even NLCS Series Against Dodgers**

The New York Mets aimed to level the National League Championship Series as they faced the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers, who were lauded for their pitching prowess after setting a postseason record of 33 consecutive scoreless innings, saw their streak abruptly end when the game commenced.

The Mets wasted no time in Game 2 with Francisco Lindor smashing a leadoff home run off Dodgers' starter Ryan Brasier, taking an early 1-0 lead. This crucial homer snapped the Dodgers' impressive scoreless streak. The Dodgers had maintained this record since Game 3 of their previous series against the San Diego Padres. This early offensive thrust signaled the Mets' intention to bounce back from their Game 1 loss.

The Dodgers quickly switched pitchers, bringing in Landon Knack after Brasier conceded the initial run. However, Knack faltered as well, giving up a grand slam to Mark Vientos in the second inning. Vientos’ grand slam shattered the Dodgers' pitching composure, swelling the Mets' lead to 6-0.

On the mound for the Mets, Sean Manaea delivered an outstanding performance. Manaea navigated the powerful Dodgers lineup adeptly, pitching four shutout innings initially and ending the fourth inning without allowing a hit. Even the fierce Shohei Ohtani appeared baffled by Manaea's unique arm angle, striking out in his first two at-bats.

Despite the Mets' dominant start, Max Muncy provided some respite for Dodgers fans with a solo home run off Manaea in the fifth inning, reducing the Mets' lead to 6-1. However, Brent Honeywell and Anthony Banda, part of the Dodgers' bullpen, managed to contain further damage, although they struggled against the Mets’ relentless offense.

The Mets' decisive early runs and solid pitching from Manaea set the stage for a comfortable lead, emphasizing the importance of a strong start against the resilient Dodgers. As the series progresses, the Mets' ability to capitalize on such opportunities and Manaea's consistent performance could play a crucial role in their quest for the championship.
