Actress Melissa Joan Hart recently revealed that although she wasn't involved in the documentary "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," she believes the allegations of abuse suffered by some Nickelodeon child stars in the '90s. Speaking in a podcast interview with Meghan McCain called "Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat," Hart expressed her support for the victims and their stories.
Hart emphasized that she had not personally heard the stories from the Nickelodeon stars featured in the documentary, nor had anyone approached her to discuss their experiences. However, she expressed her belief in the authenticity of their accounts and assured McCain and the listeners that she trusted and believed the victims 100 percent.
Although Hart mentioned that she had never personally encountered any instances of abuse during her time working at Nickelodeon, she acknowledged that everyone's experiences may differ. The actress shared that she had a positive experience working at the network, as her show was filmed in the Orlando studio rather than in Hollywood. She credited the amazing crew and cast for taking good care of her, but acknowledged that there may have been differences in location and time periods that contributed to her experiences being different from those mentioned in the documentary.
Hart's comments came during the discussion on McCain's podcast, where she also discussed her show's production at Nickelodeon and the support she received throughout her time there. The full interview is available on "Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat."
Meanwhile, "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" is currently streaming on Max, giving viewers a deeper look into the alleged abuse that occurred during the '90s. The documentary sheds light on the experiences of former Nickelodeon child stars. With an additional episode set to be released soon, the docuseries aims to raise awareness about the issues surrounding the entertainment industry and the need for change.
Hart's support for the victims and her belief in their stories undoubtedly adds weight to the documentary's message. As the conversation around abuse and misconduct in the industry continues, it is crucial that more voices speak up and support those who have endured such experiences.
