**McManus' Last-Second Field Goal Secures Packers Win in Thriller Against Texans**

In a sensational debut, Brandon McManus sealed the Packers' dramatic 24-22 victory over the Texans with a 45-yard field goal as time expired. This result boosts both teams’ records to 5-2 for the season.

McManus, who joined the Packers earlier this week, delivered in the clutch with his first field goal for Green Bay, a high-pressure kick that came with merely three seconds left on the clock. Despite being outplayed in several aspects of the game, Houston managed to stay competitive thanks to Green Bay's mistakes.

The Texans' offense struggled throughout the game, amassing only 197 yards as rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud faced relentless pressure. Stroud completed just 10 of 21 attempts, throwing for 86 yards—an unusually low figure for the standout rookie. Despite these struggles, three turnovers by the Packers, including two interceptions thrown by Jordan Love, gave the Texans opportunities they otherwise wouldn't have had.

A strategic misstep ultimately dashed Houston’s hopes. With 1:44 remaining, Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked a 35-yard field goal, giving the Texans a temporary 22-21 lead. However, their inability to successfully run the ball while in scoring distance proved costly. Joe Mixon's back-to-back rush attempts lost five yards, and an incomplete pass on third down forced Houston to settle for the field goal rather than pushing for a touchdown.

Mixon, who finished with 115 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, provided a glimpse of his potential, but the Texans’ conservative play-calling in critical moments cost them heavily. Although the Texans have thrived in close games this season with a 4-1 record in one-possession contests, the team remains in search of a landmark road victory during their 2023 resurgence.

The Packers, who managed to protect their home turf despite some shaky moments, were outscored in the first half due to turnovers. Houston turned Green Bay's mistakes into 16 points, carrying a 19-14 lead into halftime. Scoring drives for the Texans included short fields, highlighted by their ability to pounce on Green Bay’s errors.

Key plays for the Texans included interceptions by Neville Hewitt and Calen Bullock, as well as a punt recovery by safety M.J. Stewart after it glanced off the Packers’ Corey Ballentine. Houston narrowly missed securing an additional turnover; despite what looked like a backward pass by the Packers being ruled an incompletion, DeMeco Ryans did not challenge the call, and Green Bay capitalized with a quick touchdown.

On the offensive front, Jordan Love completed 24 of 33 passes for 220 yards, throwing three touchdown passes but also two interceptions. Romeo Doubs led the Packers’ receivers with eight catches for 94 yards. Touchdown receptions by Dontayvion Wicks, Tucker Kraft, and Josh Jacobs rounded out Green Bay’s scoring.

Defensively, the Packers applied constant pressure on Stroud, registering four sacks from Eric Wilson (two), Xavier McKinney, and Rashan Gary. Their defense notched seven quarterback hits and 11 tackles for loss, showcasing a relentless pass rush that kept the Texans' offense in check throughout the game.
