**McLaren Dominates Final Practice at Spanish Grand Prix**
McLaren's strong performance in the final Spanish Grand Prix practice session crushed any speculation that the recent clampdown on Formula 1’s flexi-wings would impede their progress. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris claimed the top two spots with a commanding lead, displaying the team’s resilience and adaptability.
Despite initial concerns that Norris might struggle due to some bouncing during his first run on soft tyres, he still managed to secure second place, trailing Piastri by 0.526 seconds. This significant gap highlighted McLaren's dominance on the track.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Mercedes' George Russell took third and fourth places, respectively, each about seven-tenths of a second behind Piastri. Max Verstappen of Red Bull, who many expected to challenge for the top spots, was almost a full second off the pace, securing fifth place.
Isack Hadjar from Racing Bulls and Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes followed closely, with Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin, Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari, and Liam Lawson in another Racing Bulls car completing the top ten. Each brought their unique strengths to the track, but none could match McLaren's impressive performance.
The session results highlight the competitive field, with McLaren establishing themselves as the team to beat in the Grand Prix. While other teams will be analyzing their data and making adjustments, McLaren's solid showing sets a high bar for the race ahead.
