In a recent turn of events, Max Verstappen, the Formula One driver for Red Bull Racing, has come out in support of his father, Jos Verstappen, following his acrimonious attack on the team principal, Christian Horner. The controversy surrounding Horner and the allegations of inappropriate behavior made by a female employee has sparked a massive schism within the team.

Last week, during the Bahrain Grand Prix, Jos Verstappen claimed that Horner's position with the team was no longer tenable and could potentially lead to the team "exploding." Max Verstappen, speaking ahead of the upcoming Saudi Arabian GP, expressed his agreement with his father's stance and defended him against accusations of lying.

Max Verstappen stated, "My dad, from how I know him in go-karting, is very outspoken and he is not a liar, that is for sure. My dad and I are very close. We call every day." This statement further underscores Max's support for his father's actions.

The controversy surrounding Horner and Red Bull escalated with the release of leaked email exchanges containing messages purportedly between Horner and the complainant. An independent investigation cleared Horner of any wrongdoing, but he has refrained from commenting on the leaked emails.

While there have been claims that Jos Verstappen is playing a role in the attempts to remove Horner, he has denied these allegations. Red Bull Racing has maintained that there is no antagonism between the two camps. However, speculations have arisen regarding Max Verstappen's potential departure from the team, possibly to join Mercedes next year, following Lewis Hamilton's announcement of joining Ferrari.

Horner has expressed his confidence in remaining in charge at Red Bull Racing. In an apparent effort to mend the strained relations, he recently met with Max Verstappen's manager, Raymond Vermeulen. Despite having a contract with Red Bull until 2028, Max Verstappen has not ruled out a move to a rival team, citing the unpredictable nature of life.

When asked about the possibility of staying with Red Bull if Horner remains as the team principal, Max Verstappen responded, "From my side, what I want is to have a quiet environment where everyone is happy to work, regardless of who is involved in the team or not." He emphasized his happiness and contentment with the team's performance.

As the reigning Formula One champion and with a dominant victory in the first round of this year's championship, Max Verstappen is poised for a fourth title. Red Bull Racing remains a formidable team until the next regulation change in 2026. However, the situation surrounding Horner's position and Max Verstappen's contract remains uncertain, leaving room for speculation about the future of the talented Dutch driver.

In the coming weeks, all eyes will be on developments within Red Bull Racing as the team strives to maintain stability and focus during the ongoing controversy.
